Joe Colombo, thanks to his passion for Jazz, allows himself to be stimulated by this creative space and the resulting contaminations; the “Carrello Musica” of 1968, which he designed on the occasion of the competition organised by Rinascente with Abet Laminati, is in fact an example of this.

The Transparent Turntable combines timeless glass and aluminum design with the warmth of vinyl. A modular record player made to last, and the perfect match for any Transparent Speaker. The Transparent Turntable is a reinvention of a classic vinyl record player, designed for a modern home and an ever evolving technology. The Transparent Turntable is meticulously crafted out of aluminium and tempered glass. It is a belt driven system with a built in phono stage, and a pre-mounted cartridge from Danish Ortofon.
These are all elements characterizing both Jazz music and Joe Colombo’s work. According to Gillo Dofles, Colombo’s works are always extremely vital, extremely free, while being perfectly successful from a design point of view.
